On 17 and 18 October 2026, Petbuds joined thousands of cat owners at the Melbourne Cat Lovers Festival at Melbourne Showgrounds. We used the weekend to publicly launch the Petbuds MAX, our largest automatic self-cleaning litter box, built for big cats and multi-cat homes.

Why we came to Melbourne
Petbuds is an Australian smart pet brand based in Perth. Most of our customers meet us online, so the festival was a chance to do something a product page cannot: let cat owners open the lids, look inside the drums, watch a cleaning cycle up close, and ask us questions face to face. It also gave us honest, real-time feedback from people who live with cats every day.
The Petbuds MAX launch
The MAX was the most visited unit on our stand all weekend. With 106L of usable interior space and a semi-open entry, it is designed for the cats that standard automatic litter boxes leave out: Maine Coons, Ragdolls, Norwegian Forest Cats and households with several cats sharing one box.
Can a Maine Coon fit in the Petbuds MAX?
It is one of the first questions owners of large breeds ask, so a Maine Coon visitor answered it for us. He stepped into the MAX, turned around, and settled in comfortably with plenty of room to spare.
That space matters. A cat that feels cramped is more likely to avoid the box, and a roomy interior is what lets large breeds use an automatic litter box at all.
